Catch Up!

In January Braylon and I took a trip to see how Colby's teaching is going...besides him sleeping in a mouse hole (not a joke) he seems to be doing pretty good. He is almost done with his student teaching and we are very excited. He really enjoys teaching and the students like him too. Braylon took a ride on the luggage cart.

We all traveled to Arizona again for work but his time we stopped to see the Glen Canyon Dam.

Braylon pretty much knows how to get what he wants.

VALENTINE'S DAY!
I made Colby a cupcake bouquet????

First time playing in the snow! Apparently he tripped in the snow and fell on his face a few times but he really likes the snow. Mom pushing him down a small hill in a sled is a different story. That was not a happy moment.

We took a bike ride and went to the park with Melissa, Jed and Gavin. Colby is amazing!! and shameless too. He waited patiently behind a line of small children for his turn on the slide.

Braylon is growing up so fast and he gets around too fast. It's embarrassing when your sitting in the back row at church and you look away for one second and Braylon is suddenly standing underneath the pulpit and both Colby and I are too embarrassed to go get him. It is also embarrassing when he runs at a two year old with both arms extended in excitement and then pulls her down to the ground as she is screaming.

He deliberately does things we say no to and he wakes up at 6:17 AM wide eyed, happy as can be and ready to play. Yes, Mark and Melissa I am receiving payback for those early morning singing episodes I so generously blessed you with when we were little. I am now apologizing.

On the other hand, Braylon is the greatest joy of our lives. He always makes us smile. He can say a few words like mom, dad, yes, ball, and glegloglelgo (my personal favorite). He can find trees, balloons, belly buttons and toes. But don't try to get him to find your nose because he will think you are saying 'no' and get that really sad look on his face before he cries that we can't help but laugh at.

Braylon 10 Months

BRAYLON!!

Braylon is 10 months old and we are having a hard time keeping up with him. While it looks like he is packing a lot of weight he is only in the 10th percentile for weight and height. He never stops moving and never sleeps. He can't miss a thing. His favorite food right now is broccoli, salmon and yes, Chocolate. He managed to suck a dove chocolate through the foil so quickly that by the time we looked down it was half gone, all over Braylon's face, hands, clothes and all over the carpet. He was up on his knees sucking so intensely and the look on his face said: This is so good but I know I'm in trouble so suck faster.

Braylon is also in the business of carving tables...... with these shark teeth. We now have covered the coffee table with a Whinnie the Pooh sheet to avoid further Vampire Damage.

Braylon's two front teeth have just come through so he won't look like a vampire much longer and he can take 5 or 6 steps at a time. We don't practice walking because well, we just don't. Braylon is ready but we are not. I guess he is figuring it out anyway. Braylon is just like Colby, always happy and smiling and he eats a ton.

CHRISTMAS 2009

We had so much fun this Christmas! We went to a cabin near Evanston and went snowmobiling. Santa Claus even found us in the middle of nowhere at the cabin. It was awesome to see all of our family.

Thanksgiving 2009

We spent Thanksgiving in San Diego this year. We stayed in a beach house and went to Sea World and Disneyland.

Braylon has now already been to Disneyland Twice...pretty lucky! This time though he was able to come on a few rides with us.

Colby was able to blow stuff up this time... At Sea World, Shamu was the only thing that could keep Braylon still. And of course we were soaking wet!

We rode bikes on a trail along the Beach and Bay. The water was cold but we had fun swimming in the ocean.

Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! Today we ran the Hallows 5K. It was hard for some of us (Merilee). Braylon slept the whole run and colby pushed him the entire way. You think Colby would be tired but he still answered the phone and chatted in the middle of the race. Iron lungs, I guess. Braylon was a Monkey for Halloween. If you want every possible stranger in sight to touch, pat, rub, pinch and speak "Ga Ga" to your baby just stick a monkey costume on him. Does the trick.

In addition... It attracts the ladies.

No, we did not go trick-or-treating. We will be putting that off as long as possible. We went to dinner with Melissa and Jed and just relaxed!!

Phoenix Take II

Two trips to Phoenix in two weeks!! Colby and Braylon came with me on the Arizona college tours for the Upward Bound students. Braylon is pretty spoiled...

He gets his own seat on the bus....

He gets his own water bottle...

He gets to ride on his own Lizard...

We took the students to NAU in Flagstaff, Yavapai in Prescott (home of this giant lizard) and ASU in Phoenix. It's a lot of fun that we can go together. Braylon could get up on his hands and knees and attempt to crawl before we left but the moment we got home from Phoenix he could suddenly crawl everywhere. I guess that long in a car seat will do that. He is into everything now and can get around pretty fast. The giant, red, raw carpet burns on his legs don't even slow him down.

We go rollerblading in our spare time. Braylon grips the front of his stroller like he is on a roller coaster. He watches our feet like a hawk. I wouldn't be surprised if next week I catch him strapping on his own pair.

Phoenix Baseball Tournament

At the beginning of October Colby played in a baseball
in Phoenix with two of his cousins and Tyson. It was
hot and a lot of fun.

As you can see Braylon is calling Colby's hit fair. He is learning fast... The ump threatened to kick him out for calling foul and fair balls.

They played on the Tempe Diablo Spring Training fields and someone was excited apparently !

Colby even pitched! He did awesome against 300 pound beefs. He threw 13 innings in 3 days and oddly enough his arm didn't fall off. He also hit over .500.

TEMPE DIABLO STADIUM!
